Though antibiotics are readily available over-the-counter in Mexico, you need to select the best medication for the bacteria causing the infection. Do not self-medicate. Self-medicating with the wrong antibiotics may lead to bacterial antibiotic resistance, thus complicating the treatment of your infection. </li>

- A basic physical exam and review of vital signs
- Prescriptions if medically appropriate (unless not covered in a promotion)

Intake Appointment - Family Medicine 

Pap Smear + Vaginal pH + Rapid STI Panel + CA-125

What it is:
A single visit that combines four assessments:

Pap smear (cervical cytology): Screens for precancerous cell changes of the cervix (may be paired with HPV testing if clinically indicated).

Vaginal pH test: A quick, painless check of vaginal acidity that helps narrow the cause of vaginitis symptoms.

Rapid STI panel: Point-of-care tests that screen for common sexually transmitted infections with results the same day.

CA-125 blood test: A lab marker that can be elevated in certain gynecologic conditions. Note: CA-125 is not a general cancer screening test in average-risk, asymptomatic patients; we use it selectively based on symptoms or risk factors.

Pap Smear + Vaginal pH + STI Panel + CA125

What it is: A screening test that collects cells from the cervix to look for precancerous changes and cervical cancer. It may be paired with an HPV test.

Who should get it / how often: 21–29 yrs: Pap every 3 years., 30–65 yrs: Pap every 3 years, HPV every 5 years, or co-testing (Pap+HPV) every 5 years. (Intervals may vary based on your history; follow your clinician’s advice.)

Important:

- A Pap is not an STI test (we can add STI tests separately).

- Pregnancy usually isn’t a contraindication—tell your clinician if you are or might be pregnant.

Preparation:
Avoid sex, douching, vaginal creams/medications, and tampons for 24–48 hours before the test. Try to schedule when you’re not on your period (light spotting is usually fine).

What to expect / timing:
A speculum exam; a soft brush collects cervical cells. Mild cramping/spotting can occur. Results typically 7 days and will be uploaded to your portal.

Pap-Smear (Cervical Cytology) - Papanicolaou

A same-day consultation in our clinic with a licensed physician or allied health professional for the rapid assessment and treatment of urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, such as infections, injuries, or sudden illness. Laboratory tests, imaging, and additional services are billed separately.

What it is: A single visit that combines a Pap smear (cervical cytology), a quick vaginal pH test, and rapid STI tests for HIV, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia—so you get fast answers and a complete plan.

Why it’s helpful:

Pap smear: Detects precancerous cervical changes early.

Vaginal pH: Helps point toward common causes of vaginitis.

Rapid STI panel: Same-day guidance for the most common infections.

Preparation: Avoid sex, douching, vaginal creams/medications, and tampons for 24–48 hours before your visit. Try to schedule when you’re not on your period (light spotting is okay). Tell your clinician if you might be pregnant or recently took antibiotics.

Pap Smear + Vaginal pH + Rapid STI Panel

A combined visit that includes a Pap smear (cervical cytology to detect precancerous changes/cervical cancer; may be paired with HPV testing) and a quick vaginal pH test to help evaluate common causes of vaginitis (e.g., bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, yeast infections).

Why it’s helpful:

Pap smear: Early detection of cervical cell changes.

Vaginal pH: Rapid clue to the type of infection/imbalance

Preparation:
Avoid sex, douching, vaginal creams/medications, and tampons for 24–48 hours before the visit. Try to schedule when you’re not on your period (light spotting is okay). Tell us if you might be pregnant or on antibiotics.

What to expect:
A speculum exam. We collect cervical cells for the Pap; a small pH strip is gently placed to measure vaginal acidity. Mild pressure or brief cramping is possible.

Timing: Vaginal pH: result (minutes), Pap 7 days, uploaded to your patient portal.
